Umps for Care
Professionals
A smarter kind of care for a better way of living.

Inspiring aged care providers support their clients with Umps.
Our mission is to enable a smart kind of care for a better way of living.
Umps is a technology of choice for inspiring aged care providers across Australia, and is provided under the Home Care Package Program, Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), Short Term Restorative Care Program (STRC) and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

What sort of clients is Umps likely to benefit?
Umps is flexible, affordable and ‘just works’. Some of our current users are:
People with poor balance that may be at risk of a fall
This includes some older people as well as younger people living with a disability that impacts balance, such as an acquired brain injury.
People living with dementia
Umps operates entirely in the background. It doesn’t require someone to wear a pendant or press a button, which makes it suitable for people with dementia.
People at risk of a medical or health issue
Umps identifies subtle changes in a person’s routine that may indicate a change in health or wellbeing, like a decrease in appetite, disrupted sleep or decreased activity at home.
People who are not likely to wear a personal alert
Such as those living with dementia or another cognitive impairment.
People who have a personal alert pendant, regardless of whether they wear it regularly or not.
If something happens to a person at home and they are unconscious or not wearing their personal alert, Umps will raise an alert after an unusual period of inactivity is detected. This provides an added level of safety above a personal alert pendant.
People who can’t call for help if something happened to their carer.
Umps operates entirely in the background. It doesn’t require someone to wear a pendant or press a button, which makes it suitable for people with dementia.

What people love about Umps
See what our happy customers have to say!
Invaluable!
“The service that Umps has provided Mum and our family has been invaluable! Mum has several electrical appliances, like the kettle, TV and bedside lamp, which she regularly uses. If she does not use them at her usual time of day, I receive a text from Umps. Mum is happy to know that she has the support of the Umps team!”
Rhonda, Altona, Victoria
Umps has put my mind at ease.
“It’s very reassuring to know that Umps will let someone know if I need help. I am 81 years old and live on my own, and sometimes a couple days will lapse before I have a visitor or a phone call. It’s nice to know that if I need help I will get it. I tell all my friends about it. Umps has put my mind at ease.”
Shirley, 81, Colac, Victoria
It bubbles along.
“I chose to use Umps for my 90-year-old father, who also suffers from Parkinson's disease and lives alone. It addressed a gap in current services like personal alarms. It bubbles along in the background without impacting on someone”
Mariette, Epping, Victoria
Terrific.
"What is so terrific about Umps is that it doesn’t require any participation from its user. She doesn’t have to wear any gadget, make any phone calls or press any sort of alarm button".
Louise, Colac, Victoria
